About Christiane
Most people think of themselves as a personality with a body. Wellness can be approached from either direction.
I work with both.
Though many people today understand that there is a close connection between the body and the mind, mostly we don’t live what we understand. Instead, we think of ourselves as a personality with a body, as if they were separate. And it is this misperceived separation that is the source of much of what we struggle with in our personal and professional lives.
In BodyMind Consulting programs, I use body movements and interactive dialogue to create the experience of well-being by working with each person as a single whole BodyMind. Wholeness is not just living free of pain, it is living from beyond the misperception of the separation.
For the most part, our difficulties occur when expectations and reality clash and often we aren’t even aware that we had those expectations. But in either case, aware or not, when we resist the situation in which we find ourselves, it then manifests as patterns of stress that accumulate over time.
The common name for this is pain, which can be physical or mental or both. The root of such pain is an energetic blockage (either surface or subtle) lodged in both the body and the mind and is often accompanied by an emotional discomfort.
In the body we experience resistance as a tightness or a knot; in the mind we experience it as a problem or a situation that we believe should not be as it is. But actually, though we might experience it more strongly in one form or the other, it is the same stuckness or (k)not that is present in both simultaneously. Wellbeing and wholeness follow from the release of these (k)nots and an awareness of where they came from.
Christiane invites you to explore your inner terrain with wonder, allowing for the unfolding of internal shifts that naturally occur through the growth process. This results in an impact that will be reflected in your life.
Forever a student of life, Christiane has a natural curiosity that has led her to study and explore the BodyMind connection from within the body, through an ontological lense.
With deep exploration, Christiane’s continuing education has naturally led her to study & practice yoga for over 20 years with a variety of teachers from vastly different backgrounds and specialties. Midway through, she began to study ontology which led to working with the BodyMind from an ontological perspective. This unique fusion of philosophies has allowed Christiane to gain invaluable wisdom and experience, offering an opportunity to participate in embodied learning.
Having led multiple 200 hour teacher training programmes and co-creating BodyMind programmes, Christiane has extensive experience supporting students all over the world and also leads sessions and programmes in both English and Italian.
Christiane is American by birth and Italian by residence, currently living in Como, Italy with her two sons.
Her studies started in New York City and include a Bachelor’s degree in French Literature from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in TOESL (Teaching of English as a Second Language) from Hunter College.
